Introduction to Business Law
This course covers the legal and regulatory environment pertinent to all types of entities, both private and public. The American Judicial System will be closely examined along with general common law principles. Federal and State Statutes and Codes will be discussed in detail. The following topics will be covered: Civil litigation, personal injury, criminal behavior, business ethics, contractual and collective bargaining agreements, business formation, agency law, sales contracts, and compliance with government regulations. In addition, this course will explore areas pertaining to labor law, negotiable instruments, property law, insurance regulations, securities, estate and trust law, environmental regulations, creditor/debtor issues, ethical behavior, antitrust law, legal organizational structures, consumer law, and commercial property.
Employment Law Principles
This class will focus on Federal Statutes and State Regulated Laws. The topics addressed include Title VII of the '64 Civil Rights Act, wrongful termination, OSHA, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, EEO/Affirmative Action, and ERISA. Additional topics will encompass Workplace Privacy, Cyber Law, Employers' Legal Rights to conduct Drug Testing and the Employees' Rights and Protections against Unreasonable Search and Seizure. These are just a few of the many topics that will be covered.
ETHICS AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Basic Principles of Ethics and Social Responsibility
Ethics is important in all areas and this course is designed to help executives, leaders, and managers implement a comprehensive code of conduct in the workplace that deals with complex ethical issues that occur in the day-to-day relationships when leading and managing an organization. The course will provide guidelines for managing ethics, identifying key roles and responsibilities in order to develop and implement a code of ethics and code of conduct.
MEDIATION AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Resolve Conflict Using Mediation Techniques
In this course, students will learn practical and theoretical approachs for managing organizational disputes. Managers will learn to design and apply dispute resolution and alternative solutions to organizational problems. Participants will gain the necessary skills to effectively resolve conflict and arrive at a "win-win" resolution. New processes for implementing "Change Management" will be explored. Negotiation techniques and procedures will be discussed. Alternative resolutions will be analyzed along with legal issues. Training will include role-play in order to master the skills necessary for becoming an impartial third-party mediator. Managers will be trained to effectively resolve disputes and lead the parties toward a positive outcome. The concepts learned will be most effective in managing and resolving any work-environment dispute.
LABOR/MANAGEMENT RELATIONS
Labor Relations Between Management & Labor
The focus of this course will be on state mandated Prevailing Wage Laws and the Federal Davis Bacon Act. These laws mandate that agencies properly award public works contracts and pay the legally mandated wages to employees. This directly pertains to state agencies, counties, municipalities, and all other political subdivisions of those states that have existing Prevailing Wage Laws.

Responsibilities of Human Resource Managers
Human Resource Management will focus on the responsibilities and challenges facing HR Managers and Directors today. Topics covered will include: Recruiting, Testing, Interviewing, Evaluating Appraisals, Assessing Performance, Developing Pay Plans, Reviewing Health Plans, analyzing International Business Trends, and learning important legal aspects related to the HR function.

Leadership Styles in the Workplace
The Leadership course will explore management and leadership styles in global organizations. Avoiding Team Conflict in the Workplace
Team conflict in organizations is prevalent today. This course will review and examine how multinational corporations are influenced by intercultural work forces. Information Technologies and the Global Environment will be observed as they pertain to communication skills and the role of leaders. Topics will include a leader's ability to effectively communicate with peers, subordinates, and superiors. Proactive listening, expression of ideas, use of paraphrasing, the importance of feedback, and strategies to control the flow of information will be scrutinized in detail.

This course offered in Public Administration is designed to enable professionals to understand public administration. It will cover public policy administration and analysis, conducting policy research, and analysis of public financial management; this will help management professionals work in a professional role within a public entity.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM
Introduction to the Criminal Justice System
The evolution of the American Criminal Justice System will be explored, along with various criminal laws and violations within the penal codes. The course will also examine relationships between law enforcement agencies and the courts. The present roles of police departments will be discussed in detail. Lastly, the adjudication process will be studied as related to the initial charge through the conviction and the appeal processes.
